DENHAM SPRINGS, LA, UNITED STATES, January 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center hosted its 5th annual Second Chance Foundation Golf Classic on Thursday, December 4, with an unexpected twist. When weather made golf impossible, the team pivoted to a poker tournament, bringing together supporters, referral partners, and community leaders from across Louisiana and throughout the United States for a day centered on generosity, connection, and a shared commitment to addiction recovery and mental health treatment.

The tournament took place at Graystone Country Club and welcomed attendees who traveled from across the country to support the mission of St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center, a trusted provider of evidence-based addiction treatment in Louisiana for more than 25 years. Despite the unexpected weather, the spirit of the day remained strong, with participants embracing the moment and keeping the holiday cheer alive.

The event featured a well-attended poker tournament, along with meaningful networking, conversation, and time to reconnect. The atmosphere reflected the strength of the St. Christopher’s community and the enduring support behind its work to expand access to drug and alcohol treatment, mental health services, and long-term recovery resources.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who traveled, attended, and supported this year’s tournament,” said Grier Noyes, Chief Brand Experience & Growth Officer at St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center. “Even with the weather challenges, the turnout and engagement spoke volumes about the strength of this community and the importance of our mission.”

Support generated through the event benefits the Second Chance Foundation, the nonprofit arm of St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center. The Foundation is dedicated to removing barriers to addiction treatment, supporting prevention initiatives, and strengthening healthier, drug-free communities across Louisiana and beyond.

St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center offers a long-term continuum of care for men, ranging from detox and residential treatment to outpatient programming and supported independent living. Designed to be both accessible and affordable, the program emphasizes sustained engagement in care. Internal outcome data demonstrates that individuals who remain connected to St. Christopher’s services for up to a year experience significantly positive recovery outcomes, reinforcing the value of continuity, stability, and long-term support.

The continued impact of the Second Chance Foundation Golf Classic reflects the growing national support for St. Christopher’s mission and the vital role community-driven efforts play in addressing addiction and mental health needs.
